Company Overview

Dong is a fast-growing distribution and marketing agency operating in the consumer goods and retail sectors. Our business spans product distribution, sales representation, marketing and agency services, and retail-related operations. Given the nature of our business, the finance function covers inventory-heavy accounting, trade promotions, multi-channel sales, and margin analysis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Month-End Closing

* Handle daily accounting operations including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and cash management.

* Perform monthly and annual closing independently.

* Prepare full set of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow).

* Support external audits and manage balance confirmations and audit schedules.

2. Cost & Inventory Management (Distributor / retail / consumer goods experience highly valued)

* Manage inventory of finished goods across warehouses, stores, and distribution channels.

* Perform cost accounting using weighted average method.

* Conduct inventory valuation, variance analysis, and purchase price variance control.

* Track and reconcile landed costs (freight, duties, logistics, etc.).

* Reconcile inventory data across suppliers, locations, and sales channels.

3. Management Accounting & Reporting

* Allocate costs and expenses by department, product, sales channel, or client / campaign.

* Prepare monthly management reports with analytical insights, including:

* Sales performance and trends

* Gross margin analysis

* Trade promotion and discount impact

* Agency project and campaign profitability

* Compile quarterly consolidated reporting packages.

* Track and reconcile trade promotions, rebates, deductions, and marketing-related expenses.

4. Systems & Work Environment

* Use Xero (cloud-based accounting system) for daily accounting and reporting.

* Maintain accurate accounting records and support process improvements as the business scales.

Requirements

* 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in: Distribution/ Marketing / agency services/ Retail or consumer goods/ Inventory-driven businesses

* Able to handle full monthly closing independently.

* Strong hands-on experience with Xero.

* Fluent in Cantonese, with good command of English and Mandarin.

* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret numbers in business context, including: Margins and pricing/ Sales trends/ inventory turnover/ Promotional ROI/ Project / campaign costs
