Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer (Project-Based)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Work Mode: Onsite

Employment type: Permanent

Our client is a leading IT & Cloud Solutions provider in Southeast Asia, empowering businesses with cloud, data, security and AI services as part of the Telecommunication group. They support organizations across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Australia with cloud, infrastructure, security, data, and AI solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our applications through effective planning, execution, and reporting of software tests.

Responsibilities

  • Review product requirements, specifications, and designs to define test scope and objectives
  • Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for web and/or mobile applications
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression, UI/UX validation, and non-functional testing
  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using bug tracking tools such as Jira or Trello
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are resolved before release
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and Designers to clarify requirements and resolve issues
  • Follow defined QA processes and standards during all testing activities
  • Prepare test reports and provide clear testing status updates to stakeholders


Requirements

Must-have:

  • Basic understanding of software testing principles and QA methodologies
  • Experience in manual testing for web and/or mobile applications (Black-box & White-box)
  • Ability to write clear and structured test cases and bug reports
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar bug tracking tools
  • Familiarity with Browser DevTools (basic level)
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and strong sense of product quality
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team


Nice-to-have:

  • Experience or exposure in the Telco / Telecommunications industry
  • Knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, or API testing
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Robot Framework)
