Our client is seeking a proactive Data Center Operations Engineer (L1.5) to support the day-to-day operations of enterprise data center facilities. This role is responsible for server and network equipment maintenance, hardware troubleshooting, asset management, structured cabling, facility coordination, and remote infrastructure support.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and data center providers to ensure smooth and reliable data center operations.

Key Responsibilities
Data Center Operations

• Perform server installation, mounting, handover acceptance, and routine inspections.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and equipment patrols.
• Support data center operational readiness and scheduled maintenance activities.

Server & Hardware Maintenance

• Replace faulty hardware components and support break-fix activities.
• Perform server diagnostics and minimal configuration testing.
• Support out-of-warranty hardware maintenance.
• Assist with post-repair system configuration and validation.

Incident Support & Troubleshooting

• Perform initial diagnostics and troubleshooting for server and infrastructure issues.
• Collect logs and perform pre-vendor triage before escalation.
• Support system recovery, disk mounting, and OS-level repairs.

Network Device Support

• Assist with deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Perform equipment acceptance checks and routine inspections.
• Coordinate with telecommunications carriers and data center providers when required.

Asset & Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory of production equipment, spare parts, and project assets.
• Organize storage areas, cabinets, and equipment documentation.
• Update asset records, server inventories, and technical documentation.

Data Center Facility Coordination

• Coordinate rack power activities with facility teams.
• Support facility maintenance, environmental monitoring, and incident response.
• Report abnormalities and assist with facility change activities.

Structured Cabling

• Support structured cabling installations, validation, labeling, and documentation.
• Assist with cable management and infrastructure organization.

Remote Infrastructure Support

• Handle internal infrastructure support tickets.
• Provision IP addresses and perform network configurations.
• Create, modify, and decommission virtual machines and virtual hosts.
• Support virtual infrastructure handovers and system access requests.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with third-party vendors, logistics providers, and client teams.
• Prepare operational reports and maintain technical documentation.
• Support implementation projects and business-hour operational activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience supporting data center operations or IT infrastructure environments.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, and data center operations.
• Basic understanding of hardware diagnostics, operating systems, and network infrastructure.
• Experience with structured cabling and asset management is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Mandarin language proficiency is an advantage due to regional support requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in enterprise or colocation data centers.
• Familiarity with virtualization environments and remote infrastructure support.
• Knowledge of data center best practices, facility operations, and change management.
• Experience coordinating with vendors, telecommunications providers, and third-party service partners.
