Job Summary

We are seeking motivated External Audit professionals to join our Hong Kong–based CPA practice's Kuala Lumpur team, delivering statutory audit and assurance services to clients across a range of industries, including cross-border and Hong Kong engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute audit assignments for clients from various industries under guidance; candidates able to work independently under minimum supervision will be considered at Senior Associate level.
• Plan and perform audit fieldwork — risk assessment, tests of controls, substantive and analytical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain audit working papers in line with the firm's methodology and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Draft financial statements and audit reports in accordance with MFRS / IFRS and the Companies Act 2016.
• Liaise with clients on audit matters, resolve queries and obtain supporting documentation.
• Identify accounting and audit issues and escalate to seniors / managers on a timely basis.
• Supervise, guide and review the work of junior audit associates; report to audit partners and managers.
• Complete assignments within agreed budgets and deadlines, including during peak season (February–April).
• Provide ad-hoc duties as assigned by the team leader.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (accounting major preferred).
• Member/student member of ACCA or equivalent or ACCA available (e.g., MICPA, CPA Australia, ICAEW).
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in external audit / assurance (audit-firm background preferred).
• Good command of written and spoken English; Cantonese / Mandarin an advantage for Hong Kong and cross-border clients (preferred, not a must).
• Working knowledge of MFRS / IFRS, ISA and the Companies Act 2016.
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and under pressure; strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Able to supervise audit associates and report to audit partners and managers as senior audit associates.
