About the Roles
We are hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a custom die-cut components manufacturer based in Serangoon North, working on a 5-day schedule (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM). This is a permanent position offering Basic Salary + Variable Bonus, where you will be involved in end-to-end manufacturing engineering activities, from process development and tooling design to production support and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Evaluate customer RFQs and determine suitable manufacturing processes, preparing detailed costings covering routing, tooling, materials, cycle times, and BOMs
- Design die-cut tooling using AutoCAD 2D and develop production layouts as well as process flow for new product introductions
- Coordinate prototype builds, first article inspections, production validation, engineering changes, and product transfer activities
- Develop, update, and maintain engineering documentation such as process flow charts, work instructions, control plans, BOMs, ECNs, drawings, and specifications
- Drive improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, yield, cost efficiency, and cycle time performance
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor process capability, oversee tooling maintenance, support equipment qualification, and manage preventive maintenance activities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Lean, and Six Sigma tools
- Provide on-the-ground engineering support and train production teams on new products, processes, and work instructions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Planning, and suppliers for technical, production, and audit-related matters
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with exposure to production support and New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling design, BOMs, ECNs, control plans, work instructions, process flow documentation, and ERP systems
- Experience in precision die-cutting, flexible material converting, flat-bed or rotary die-cutting, adhesives, foams, films, tapes, thermal materials, EMI shielding, insulation materials, or laser cutting will be an advantage
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, medical device manufacturing environments, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies will be advantageous
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication, coordination, and planning skills
- Hands-on, independent, responsible, and comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment
