Responsibilities

Title: IT Business Analyst

Job Type: 1-year contract (Renewable based on performance)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review enhancement requests, business problem statements, and scope related to business operations workflows, document handling, and POS functionalities.
  • Facilitate discussions and requirement workshops with Business user, Finance/Actuarial (where applicable), and IT stakeholders to:
  • Understand current business process (NB, POS, Claim) including manual intervention & pinpoint
  • Capture detailed business rules, case scenario, Quality assurance and system logic Maintain strong alignment with operational objectives, such as productivity improvement, reduction of processing time, and minimization of assessment errors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of end-to-end business journey (NB > POS > Claim) to enable effective impact analysis.
  • Where feasible, propose system-driven and/or process improvement options that reduce manual intervention while ensuring compliance with business, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Clearly document agreed business outcomes and proposed solutions into User Requirement Documents and obtain formal sign-off from relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in solution design reviews and walkthroughs with System Analysts and IT teams to validate that the technical solution aligns with business intent.
  • Prepare and maintain a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure full alignment between business requirements, functional specifications, and test scenarios.
  • Define UAT strategy, test scope, entry/exit criteria, and test coverage, aligned with approved requirements, functional specifications, and overall system impact.
  • Develop or support the development of UAT scenarios
  • Coordinate with Test Managers, Business SMEs, and IT teams to:
  • Estimate UAT effort and tester resource requirements
  • Secure tester resources, system access, and test data
  • Ensure test environments are ready and fit-for-purpose to support UAT within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor UAT execution progress, test results, and defect trends, and actively follow up on defect resolution with IT teams.
  • Manage defects using the agreed defect tracking process or tool, ensuring timely closure and clear communication.
  • Facilitate UAT sign-off and support post-deployment verification with production users after solution release.
  • Ensure requirements are practical, accurate, and aligned with real operational practices.
  • Prepare and walkthrough detailed requirements with System Analysts and Developers.
  • Collaborate on solution clarification, impact analysis, test scope, and defect resolution.
  • Provide accurate effort estimates and inputs for resource planning and scheduling.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks and constraints and propose mitigation strategies to support on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery.
  • Simplify and automate business processes
  • Reduce manual adjustments and dependency on assessor experience
  • Improve consistency and accuracy of system outcomes
  • Promote best practices in requirements documentation and UAT management.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in testing approaches, tools, and delivery efficiency.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Experience in Insurance domain is preferred.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies such Agile, Waterfall is preferred.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think critically and address complex business challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
