About the job

In this role, you will be a key part of the manufacturing team, responsible for analyzing manufacturing and design specifications and interpreting these into technical product documentation. You will also be responsible for cost estimations and BOM generation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing product designs and specifications, converting them into packaging requirements.
• Interpreting design specifications and drawings from third-party sources.
• Proposing packaging solutions, offering design recommendations and detailed specifications.
• Creating Solidworks mechanical drawings; generating production drawings and work instructions.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and calculate costs based on customer drawings/requirements upon receiving Request For Quotation.
• Performing pre- and post-calculations of production time and costs.
• Investigating and identifying opportunities for cost reduction through thorough cost analysis reviews.
• Collecting proposals, specifications, and relevant documents, collaborating with stakeholders to translate specifications into cost estimates for both new and existing products.
• Coordinating with the purchasing department to offer ongoing feedback

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Based in or willing to work in Kulai, Johor
• Minimum of 2 years of Design Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CAD Software experience is required for this role - proficiency in Solidworks, with 3D Modeling and 2D Drawing experience
• In-depth understanding of costing; Product Bill of Material (BOM) generation and product cost calculation.
• Involvement in prototyping and First Article (FA)
• Spoken and written proficiency in English
