The Head of OD is a strategic enterprise leadership role responsible for driving business transformation, organisational effectiveness, workforce capability, and performance excellence across the organisation.
This role is designed for a commercially-oriented business leader with proven P&L accountability who has successfully led large-scale transformation initiatives, including digitalisation, AI adoption, operating model redesign, and organisational change. The incumbent will partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to ensure the organisation remains competitive, agile, productive, and future-ready.
The role combines business transformation, organisational design, talent management, leadership development, workforce planning, and AI-enabled productivity enhancement to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Organisational Design
- Lead organisation-wide operating model reviews to ensure optimal structures, accountabilities, and decision rights.
- Drive organisational design initiatives that improve speed, efficiency, collaboration, and scalability.
- Conduct workforce planning and capability assessments to align talent supply with business demand.
- Review spans of control, workforce productivity, and organisational effectiveness metrics.
- Ensure organisational structures support strategic growth and future business requirements.
Management of Talent and Succession planning
- Develop and implement enterprise talent management strategies.
- Build robust succession pipelines for critical leadership and business roles.
- Lead talent review processes and leadership assessment frameworks.
- Drive identification and development of high-potential talent.
- Ensure talent strategies support business transformation and future capability requirements.
Capability and competitveness
- Establish enterprise learning strategies that strengthen business capability and competitive advantage.
- Lead leadership development initiatives for senior and emerging leaders.
- Build future-focused capability frameworks aligned to digital, AI, commercial, and leadership competencies.
- Ensure learning investments deliver measurable business impact and organisational performance improvements.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Experience manage transformatoin program
- Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives aligned with business strategy and growth objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.
- Drive business model innovation and organisational agility across functions.
- Champion continuous improvement methodologies and performance excellence practices.
- Establish transformation governance, success metrics, and executive reporting mechanisms.
- Partner with business leaders to ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
Digital Enablement
- Develop and execute the organisation's AI-enabled workforce and productivity strategy.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, analytics, and digital technologies to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Lead workforce readiness programmes to accelerate AI adoption across the organisation.
- Partner with technology and business teams to redesign processes and operating models enabled by AI and automation.
- Establish capability-building programmes to future-proof workforce skills.
Strong experience managing the Board and stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on transformation, organisation effectiveness, talent, and capability matters.
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions and transformation workshops.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on workforce analytics, market trends, and organisational diagnostics.
- Influence senior stakeholders to drive alignment and execution of strategic priorities.
You have
Minimum 15 years of leadership experience with significant business management responsibility.
Proven track record of holding direct P&L accountability.
Experience leading large-scale business transformation programmes.
Demonstrated success in organisational redesign and operating model transformation.
