Job Description

Responsibilities

China Construction Development (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for a dedicated Environmental Officer to join our construction project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, implementing the Environmental Management System (EMS), and promoting sustainable construction practices across project sites.

Key Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, and maintain the project's Environmental Management System (EMS).

Ensure compliance with Malaysian environmental legislation, DOE requirements, project specifications, and client requirements.

Conduct routine environmental inspections, audits, and site monitoring activities.

Monitor environmental aspects including dust, noise, vibration, water pollution prevention, air quality, scheduled waste management, erosion control, and housekeeping.

Prepare and maintain environmental reports, inspection records, permits, licenses, and statutory documentation.

Investigate environmental incidents, complaints, and non-conformances, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Conduct environmental inductions, toolbox talks, and environmental awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.

Coordinate with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, clients, and relevant authorities on environmental matters.

Support environmental audits and promote sustainability initiatives throughout the project.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Must possess a valid Competent Environmental Officer certification (CePSWaM, CePIETSO, or other DOE-recognized equivalent).

Minimum 2–5 years of relevant environmental management experience, preferably in construction projects.

Good knowledge of Malaysian environmental regulations, DOE requirements, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

Strong communication, report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Able to work independently and conduct regular site inspection
