Job Overview

TCS Controls is looking for an intern who is interested in learning electrical wiring, security system installation, hardware installation, and on-site technical work.

This internship is suitable for students who prefer practical, hands-on work instead of spending the whole day working at a desk. You will work together with our technical team on actual commercial and industrial projects.

Training and guidance will be provided. Previous experience is not compulsory, but candidates must be willing to learn, follow instructions, and work responsibly.

What You Will Learn

During the internship, you will gain practical experience in:

• Running and arranging electrical, network and communication cables
• Installing PVC conduit, trunking, flexible conduit and cable tray
• Drilling, mounting and securing equipment
• Installing CCTV cameras and related equipment
• Installing door access control systems
• Installing electromagnetic locks, drop bolts, push buttons and card readers
• Installing barrier gates, turnstiles and pedestrian access systems
• Assisting with bollard and road blocker installation
• Terminating cables and installing connectors
• Using hand tools and power tools safely
• Reading basic installation drawings and cable routes
• Testing installed equipment
• Troubleshooting basic wiring and installation problems
• Preparing tools, materials and equipment for site work
• Maintaining proper site cleanliness and safety

Main Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with wiring and hardware installation
• Carry tools, cables and equipment to the work area
• Perform cable pulling and cable arrangement
• Assist with drilling, mounting and equipment installation
• Follow installation drawings and instructions from the site supervisor
• Check tools and materials before leaving for the project site
• Keep tools, equipment and work areas organised
• Take installation photos and update basic job records
• Follow company safety procedures and customer site requirements
• Travel to customer sites together with the technical team
• Perform other related technical duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Currently studying Certificate, SKM, Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, IT, Networking, Building Services or a related technical field
• SPM school leavers who are required to complete industrial training may also apply
• Interested in wiring, installation and technical work
• Comfortable working with tools and performing physical site work
• Willing to work indoors and outdoors
• Willing to climb ladders and work at installation locations when required
• Able to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Responsible, punctual and willing to learn
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia
• Basic English communication is an advantage
• Possessing a driving licence is an advantage
• Having personal transport is an advantage but not compulsory
