Role Description The Assistant Engineer (Mechanical / Mechatronic) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kedah, Malaysia. This position supports the design, development, and improvement of mechanical and mechatronic systems for industrial machinery, automation equipment, and related products. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in mechanical design work, preparing and updating CAD drawings, supporting R&D activities, and participating in prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting. The role involves collaborating with senior engineers and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with project specifications and safety standards. The Assistant Engineer will also help track project progress, prepare technical documentation, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines and quality requirements.
Qualifications

• Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronic principles, with the ability to apply them to machinery and automation systems.
• Proficiency in Machine Design, including component selection, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability.
• Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D/3D modeling, drafting, and revision control.
• Exposure to Project Management practices, including basic planning, scheduling, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Experience or strong interest in Research and Development (R&D), including experimentation, data collection, and continuous improvement activities.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Prior experience in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or industrial automation is an advantage.
