About the Role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support regional engineering projects across APAC. The role will be responsible for reviewing project requirements, preparing technical layouts, coordinating with customers and suppliers, and ensuring project documentation is delivered accurately and on time.

This role is suitable for candidates with strong mechanical or electrical engineering knowledge, project coordination experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, internal teams, and China-based stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Review & Coordination

• Review contracts together with the Sales team during the initial project handover stage.
• Understand and verify project scope, payment terms, delivery terms, schedule, warranty, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate between customers, third-party suppliers, internal entities, and product centres.
• Act as a key point of contact for project-related technical coordination.
• Ensure project requirements are clearly communicated to all relevant parties.

Engineering Design & Technical Support

• Review the technical aspects of project layouts based on customer expectations and project requirements.
• Provide technical advice to customers on project layout requirements.
• Prepare and design project layouts, equipment layouts, foundation drawings, pipe drawings, duct routes, and related engineering drawings.
• Prepare 3D foundation drawings and conceptual drawings for duct and pipe routes.
• Update and amend P&ID drawings according to process requirements.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and estimations when required.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain project documentation for customers.
• Ensure drawings, technical documents, and project records are accurate and properly filed.
• Support internal reporting and project progress updates.
• Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Centre, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely project delivery.

Key Areas of Focus

• Project layout design: 60%
• Foundation drawings, equipment layout drawings, and pipe drawings: 10%
• P&ID diagram design: 10%
• Engineering calculations and estimations: 5%
• Coordination between customer, supplier, internal entity, and product centre: 10%
• Customer documentation: 5%

RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in project engineering.
• Experience in industrial equipment, process engineering, manufacturing, boiler, palm oil mill, oleochemical, water treatment, or food processing industries will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and P&ID diagrams.
• Familiar with equipment layout, foundation drawings, piping drawings, ducting routes, and project documentation.
• Able to perform basic technical calculations and estimations.
• Experience with AutoCAD, 3D drawing software, or engineering design tools will be an advantage.

Language & Communication

• Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Mandarin communication ability is preferred, as the role may require communication with China-based vendors, clients, or internal stakeholders.
• Able to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple project requirements.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to meet deadlines.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
