Responsibilities

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide lighting setup, operation, and technical support for university events, conferences, performances, productions, ceremonies, and meetings.
  • Design, install, program, and operate stage lighting systems to meet the technical and creative requirements of various events.
  • Configure and operate lighting control consoles, DMX controllers, intelligent lighting fixtures, dimmers, LED lighting systems, and related lighting equipment.
  • Perform lighting focusing, patching, cue programming, and scene adjustments during rehearsals and live productions.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair lighting equipment, including moving head fixtures, PAR lights, Fresnel lights, spotlights, LED fixtures, dimmer racks, lighting controllers, and associated accessories.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance of all lighting systems installed in auditoriums, theatres, lecture halls, event halls, studios, classrooms, and other university facilities.
  • Perform scheduled inspections to ensure all lighting equipment is functioning properly, including fixtures, controllers, DMX cabling, power distribution, rigging systems, trusses, and mounting hardware.
  • Assist in planning, installation, and commissioning of new lighting systems and upgrades across the university.
  • Ensure all lighting equipment is safely installed and operated in compliance with electrical safety standards and workplace safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Audio Visual, IT, and Facilities teams to ensure lighting systems are integrated and fully operational for events and venue requirements.
  • Provide on-site technical support during rehearsals, performances, live productions, meetings, and special events, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
  • Ensure all event venues are fully prepared before scheduled activities by conducting pre-event testing of lighting equipment and resolving any technical issues.
  • Maintain proper inventory records of lighting equipment, spare parts, consumables, and accessories, ensuring assets are properly tracked and maintained.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, equipment fault reports, and recommendations for repairs or equipment replacement.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lighting operation, maintenance, equipment handling, and storage.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Audio Visual or management from time to time.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
