Job Description

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing direction, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of work and safety compliance
  • Develop, implement and oversee preventative maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, coordinating swift repairs and troubleshooting to restore operations
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance audits to identify potential issues before they impact production
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, logs and documentation to track equipment performance, repair history and maintenance activities
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, company policies and industry standards
  • Plan and manage maintenance budgets, including procurement of spare parts, tools and materials
  • Liaise with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise disruption to manufacturing operations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-effective maintenance solutions
  • Conduct training for maintenance staff on equipment operation, safety procedures and new maintenance techniques
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as equipment availability, maintenance costs and safety metrics

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a maintenance management or supervisory role within a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably 3+ years as maintenance department lead, experience in instrumentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, preferably with electrical system experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery systems, mechanical and electrical components
  • Experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programmes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of technical staff
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and computerised systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose equipment faults quickly and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and workplace safety practices
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and blueprints
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in maintenance engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Flexibility to respond on emergency maintenance situations as required

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
