Job Description

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid Boilerman Grade 2 Certificate of Competency issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Malaysia.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience operating and maintaining industrial steam boilers, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
  • Good knowledge of boiler operations, water treatment systems, steam distribution systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Familiar with DOSH regulations, the Factories and Machinery Act, and relevant safety requirements.
  • Able to work on shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
  • Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain steam boilers and auxiliary equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous steam supply for plant operations.
  • Monitor boiler operating parameters, including steam pressure, water level, fuel supply, feedwater quality, and temperature, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform first-line preventive maintenance on boilers, pumps, valves, water treatment systems, and related equipment.
  • Identify equipment abnormalities, troubleshoot operational issues, and promptly report any defects requiring maintenance to minimise production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate boiler logbooks, operating records, water treatment records, maintenance reports, and other statutory documentation.
  • Ensure all boiler operations comply with DOSH regulations, Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies.
  • Assist with statutory inspections, servicing, maintenance shutdowns, and audits conducted by DOSH or other regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure the boiler house and surrounding work areas are clean, safe, and organised at all times.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance and Production teams to ensure uninterrupted boiler operations and support plant production requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Assistant Maintenance Manager, or Management from time to time.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
