General Summary
The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Accounting, Finance, reporting, and audit functions, including managing the full set of management accounts, and reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
- Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Coordinates, prepares, reviews, and ensures the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; project leads/manages the external audit of all gym entities, including liaising with external audit firms.
- Develops annual budget and reforecast for each managed gym. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking
- Analyses each gym’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
- Provides strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
- Coordinates and/or prepares tax schedules, returns and information.
- Manages cash flow.
- Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required payroll, and other applicable taxes.
- Conducts regular meeting updates with finance and operation teams as necessary.
- Participates in the professional development of the finance teams in coordination with HR/Admin department.
- Oversees a team of two staff responsible for AP/AR.
- Process improvement: Develops improved and consistent reporting and close processes.
- Efficiency improvement: Develops improved AP/AR processes to shorten reporting cycle and improve cost efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements and workings are well prepared, including Companies Act 2016, SST, Income Tax (LHDN) and other mandatory filings and statutory obligations.
- Assist with various ad-hoc finance-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Fluent in English – essential, high level of communication ability (native language skill level)
- Professional qualifications and experience needed (essential)
- Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CPA/MIA)
- Approximately 2-5 years professional experience
- Business or Finance degree (Bachelor or Masters)
- Experiences of working with / managing multinational / multi-cultural teams
- Franchise and retail experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environment
- Experience with intercompany and deferred revenue reconciliations
- Needs to have high level attention to detail and be organised.
- Self-starter, able to work independently and drive changes to the current processes
- Needs to be an effective mature leader who can develop teams to improve performance

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
