Core Responsibilities

• Cost Management & Planning:
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide initial cost estimates.
• Develop and maintain project budgets and cost plans.
• Monitor expenditures to identify variances and prevent cost overruns.

• Procurement & Tendering:
• Prepare and manage tender documentation (including Bills of Quantities).
• Analyze tenders and advise on the selection of contractors and subcontractors.
• Negotiate contract terms and pricing schedules.

• Contract Administration:
• Manage contractual relationships and ensure compliance with project agreements.
• Evaluate and value variations, change orders, and claims.
• Administer interim valuations and facilitate payments to contractors/subcontractors.

• Commercial Reporting:
• Produce regular financial reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Perform Cost-Value Reconciliation (CVR) to ensure profitability.
• Finalize accounts by reconciling all costs upon project completion.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency:
• Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and service drawings.
• Proficiency in industry software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, CATO) and advanced Excel.

• Analytical Rigor:
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Methodical approach to problem-solving and risk management.

• Soft Skills:
• Effective negotiation and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication skills (to liaise between clients, architects, and site teams).
• Resilience and composure under high-pressure project deadlines.

• Education/Certification:
• Typically requires a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Civil Engineering.
• Many professionals work toward or hold chartered status with bodies like the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or similar regional professional institutes.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
