Role Description The Electrical Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cheras Jaya. This position is responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing electrical systems for projects, including power distribution and related infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include preparing engineering drawings and specifications, performing calculations, coordinating with project managers and other engineers, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations. The role involves overseeing installation and commissioning activities, resolving technical issues on-site, and working with contractors and suppliers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. The Electrical Project Engineer also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, safety assessments, and documentation of project progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with practical understanding of electricity and core engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design for industrial and commercial projects, including preparation of schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with Power Systems, covering load calculations, protection coordination, and system reliability.
  • Knowledge of Power Distribution networks, including low- and medium-voltage systems, switchgear, and related equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical specifications.
  • Experience managing or supporting electrical projects, including scheduling, cost control, and stakeholder communication.
  • Familiarity with relevant local and international electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
  • Previous experience in industrial or building services projects in Malaysia is an advantage.
