Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SOC Senior Analyst to monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents while supporting the daily operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, threat analysis, incident response, malware investigation, and security monitoring. The role also involves mentoring junior analysts, improving detection capabilities, and ensuring SLA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events through SIEM platforms to identify potential threats.
- Ensure incident response activities meet defined SLA requirements for alert handling and closure.
- Investigate, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
- Develop and maintain SOC knowledge base, threat use cases, and detection rules.
- Create and implement new threat detection use cases for emerging global threats.
- Prepare daily operational reports, monthly MIS reports, and SOC status updates.
- Support SOC L2 Analysts during incident investigations and escalations.
- Review security advisories and implement appropriate detection measures.
- Perform risk analysis and pilot testing for new security rules and scheduled reports.
- Create, modify, and maintain SIEM reports and alert rules based on approved change requests.
- Maintain and update security alert and reporting documentation.
- Participate in cyber security drills and incident response exercises.
- Monitor log sources and ensure continuous log collection; raise incidents for log collection failures.
- Verify backup job status and escalate failures when required.
- Perform malware analysis, attack flow analysis, and threat investigations.
- Assist in complex incident investigations, identifying root causes and providing relevant evidence.
- Escalate incidents requiring deeper forensic investigation to the Incident Response team.
- Support SOC Lead with operational reporting and continuous process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- 4–7+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, or LogRhythm.

- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
