MATTA Secretariat Intern will assist the Pahang Chapter Secretariat in various administrative and operational tasks. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the tourism and travel industry, develop professional skills, and contribute to the success of MATTA events and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
- Assist in the preparation and organization of documents, reports, and presentations.
- Manage and update databases, records, and files.
- Handle correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
Event Coordination:
- Support the planning and execution of MATTA events, including fairs, meetings, and workshops.
- Assist in coordinating logistics, such as venue arrangements, catering, and transportation.
- Help with event registration, attendee management, and on-site support.
Communication and Outreach:
- Assist in drafting and distributing newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials.
- Maintain and update the MATTA Pahang Chapter's social media accounts.
- Engage with members, partners, and stakeholders to provide information and support.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on industry trends, market analysis, and best practices.
- Prepare reports and summaries based on research findings.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans and initiatives.
General Support:
- Provide support to the Secretariat team as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback.
- Undertake other tasks and projects assigned by the supervisor.
Social Media:
- Develop short videos, posters, and captions that highlight key moments, promotions, and upcoming activities in a compelling way.
- Assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
- Edit and prepare creative materials using tools like Canva/CapCut.
- Schedule and publish content consistently across all platforms.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Mass Communication, Event Management, or a related field.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or other basic graphic design and video editing tools is an advantage.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and time management skills.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Responsible, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, especially during events.
- Interest in the tourism, travel, and event management industry is an added advantage.
- Applicants must be able to commit to the internship period required by their institution.
Preferred (Added Advantage):
- Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation.
- Previous experience in organising events, managing social media, or participating in student organisations.
- Basic photography or videography skills.
