Commerz Global Service Solutions is keen to hire a Credit Risk subject matter expert cum manager capable of leading a 15 to 20 persons. You will be responsible for corporate clients (small and medium-sized enterprises) in line with Commerzbank's high credit standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Tasks include future oriented trend and risk analysis regarding business profile, sector specifics and financials of the defined customer portfolio and their peer group.
- Pro-active monitoring of existing borrowers using risk adjusted monitoring processes. This includes receipt and evaluation of sector information.
- Management and SLA Reporting (including ad-hoc requests) on performance of portfolio and team as required.
- Maintain and actively promote Sectoral/Regional knowledge for the specific sectors and region covered.
- Key contact person for GRM-CC units / management team members to liaise about quality of work deliverables (e.g. appropriateness and accuracy of spreading, calculations, ratings and summary analysis) and to discuss / decide about work priorities.
- Ensure high quality standards of work deliverables by actively liaising with other credit risk team heads to incorporate new developments, best practices and to improve process quality.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the team, actively managing the team resources, including meeting both quantitative and quality targets are met.
- Promote constructive interaction of the team with other departments.
- Responsibility for the team members including all relevant HR matters.
- Responsible for promoting a constructive culture of integrity in accordance with Commerzbank internal Guideline.
- Involvement in local corporate governance as required.
- Ensure the team completes training as and when assigned within the stipulated deadline.
- Lead by example, demonstrating core behaviors and values including teamwork, focus, drive, and determination.
Specialist Knowledge:
Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage a department of credit analysts with complex responsibilities.
- Provide targeted development of methodology and expertise within the team and support knowledge transfer beyond team boundaries.
- Take responsibility in cross-functional projects (e.g. as project manager).
- Act as an impulse generator for process and conceptual improvements, including beyond the immediate area of responsibility.
Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Conduct negotiations and manage interactions with internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, especially in a cross-cultural environment.
- Enjoy working in diverse, multicultural teams.
- Communicate professionally in written and spoken English; additional languages (e.g. German – mandatory for small- and mid-cap portfolio – as well as French, Spanish, Mandarin) are highly desirable.
Analytical and Professional Expertise
- Bring experience in credit risk analysis of corporate clients.
- Understand and apply global accounting standards and accounting principles.
- Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex risk issues.
- Have knowledge of financial markets, regulatory requirements, and broader economic relationships.
- Be capable of dealing with issues for which there is no clear-cut solution and making sound, well-founded decisions.
