A leading organization in the logistics and e-commerce sector is undertaking a major technology transformation, replacing legacy systems with a modern digital platform built from the ground up. As part of this initiative, a new AI/ML engineering function is being established to transform large volumes of operational, logistics, and financial data into intelligent automation, predictive insights, and business-critical decision-making.

The role will be responsible for building and leading this greenfield capability from end to end. This includes defining the AI strategy and architecture, developing production-grade machine learning pipelines, establishing MLOps best practices, and creating the governance framework for deploying AI solutions at enterprise scale. The role is highly hands-on initially and requires someone who enjoys building new capabilities from scratch before growing and leading a high-performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing AI/ML solutions on Google Cloud Platform using Vertex AI, BigQuery, and modern ML CI/CD practices; developing GenAI and LLM applications; ensuring robust model monitoring, governance, and data privacy compliance; and partnering with platform engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable AI services. The role will also drive the prioritization and execution of AI use cases across operations, logistics, and finance while recruiting and mentoring the AI engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of technology experience, including 5+ years in hands-on AI/ML engineering and 3+ years in technical leadership. Strong expertise in Python, MLOps, Vertex AI, BigQuery, machine learning frameworks, and GenAI/LLM technologies is essential. Experience delivering AI solutions in complex enterprise environments is required, while exposure to logistics, supply chain, or financial services will be advantageous.
