We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to play a key role in our financial operations.
Scope Of Responsibilities
1.Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the full set of accounts for the operating companies.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Perform monthly closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Maintain the general ledger accurately to generate timely and insightful management reports, in compliance with relevant standards (e.g. IFRS, Companies Act, Income Tax Act).
- Perform and review bank reconciliations.
2.Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasts.
- Prepare monthly management reports with trend analysis and commentary on budget vs actual result.
- Identify trends and provide actionable financial insights to support strategic decisions.
3. Cashflow & Treasury Management
- Manage cashflow of the operating company, including ensuring sufficiency of funds in meeting payment obligations, and placement of excess funds in interest-yielding financial products.
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Supervise and enhance accounting policies and internal controls.
- Ensure accurate documentation of financial processes.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and company secretaries to ensure regulatory compliance.
5. Stakeholder & Team Management
- Supervise finance shared services team to meet internal service standards (timely reporting, accurate payment processing, etc.).
- Collaborate with internal departments and senior management to align financial support with business goals.
6. Other
- Support ad hoc analysis, special projects, and process improvements as assigned by the Business Controller.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in accounting & finance.
- Sound technical knowledge including accounting standards, Companies Act and Income Tax Act.
- Professional qualification eg ACCA, CPA, MIA or MICPA is preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Organised, meticulous, committed and independent, yet also a team player.
- Good interpersonal and project management skills.
- Proficiency in SQL accounting software.
