About the Role
SUTD is seeking an experienced Assistant Director, Innovation PG to lead the operations, governance, administration, mentoring, and promotion of the University’s Innovation PG programmes, including the Master of Science in Innovation (AI) and the PhD by Innovation pathway.
This role works closely with faculty, government agencies, industry partners, and postgraduate students, contributing to programme operations, admissions oversight, bootcamp logistics, Mission Bank management, Innovation Guild Mentor coordination, scholarships planning, partnerships, regulatory reporting, marketing and recruitment, assessment administration, postgraduate outreach, and student mentorship.
What You'll Do
Programme Operations & Student Lifecycle
- Lead programme operations and provide functional oversight of admissions processes across all cohorts.
- Coordinate bootcamp logistics across three terms, including venues, instructors, materials, residency, and OBS arrangements.
- Manage the programme calendar, gate reviews, student progress tracking, and graduation processes.
- Oversee tracking of the postgraduate student lifecycle, from admission through candidature milestones to graduation.
Mission Bank, Industry Partnerships & Mentors
- Operate the Mission Bank: intake, vet, and tag corporate problem statements; match student teams; and maintain partner relationships.
- Recruit and manage the Innovation Guild Mentor network (industry practitioners), supporting programme growth and engagement.
- Support and manage MOUs and partnerships related to Innovation PG programmes.
Postgraduate Mentorship
- Provide mentorship and advisory support to postgraduate students, complementing academic supervision by faculty.
- Guide students on institutional processes, academic milestones, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive postgraduate learning environment.
Government & Institutional Reporting
- Lead employment surveys and statutory reporting related to postgraduate programmes.
- Act as a liaison with government agencies on postgraduate and regulatory matters.
- Prepare ministry’s course submission documentation and support internal reporting and institutional planning.
Scholarships & Financial Planning
- Manage scholarships planning, projections, and reporting.
- Coordinate postgraduate funding matters with relevant stakeholders.
Marketing, Outreach & Recruitment
- Execute marketing and recruitment campaigns across digital and community channels.
- Participate in outreach activities to promote SUTD’s Innovation PG programmes.
- Represent Innovation PG at PG Matriculation, PG Townhalls, and postgraduate engagement events.
Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Administer the multi‑component assessment framework and coordinate dual‑panel reviews.
- Coordinate PhD by Innovation candidate integration and cross‑pillar billing.
- Manage external quality assurance audits and maintain assessment archives.
Who We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant training and experience in related fields.
- Experience in higher education administration, preferably in postgraduate or innovation‑focused programmes.
- Experience working with government agencies on regulatory or funding matters is an advantage.
- Research experience and/or a postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage, enabling effective engagement with postgraduate students and faculty.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex, multi‑track, policy‑driven processes.
- Experience in industry partnership development or corporate engagement.
- Comfort with digital tools: CRM platforms, Google Workspace, marketing automation, and basic data dashboarding.
- High level of independence, judgement, and organisational skills.
