PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Audiologist is responsible for delivering comprehensive audiology services across the lifespan, with a focus on elderly patients with hearing loss and auditory-related disorders. Working within a multidisciplinary team and reporting to the Head of NHG Health Centre, the role provides coordinated, patient-centred care in a community health setting.

Clinical Duties (80%)

Conduct audiological assessments, diagnostic tests, and aural toilet procedures, and determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans including hearing aid fitting and prescription.
Provide counselling and guidance to patients and their families on hearing and communication management, including tinnitus counselling and vestibular testing where required.
Deliver preventive services and community clinic consultations, referring patients to additional medical services as necessary.
Supervise and train newly joined Audiologists and Audiology Technicians.

Administrative and Organisational Responsibilities (20%)

Ensure smooth clinic operations, including daily equipment calibration, maintenance of machines, and management of stocks and hearing aid inventory.
Document department statistics, process monthly workload reports, and issue tax invoices to the relevant departments.
Maintain work instructions and policy documents, and support the setup and commissioning of new audiology booths at new NHG Health Centre sites.
Support ad hoc industrial and hearing screening activities, and perform any other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support ad hoc departmental initiatives and health promotion activities as required
Contribute to quality improvement efforts within NHG Health Centre

JOB SPECIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in Audiology or Master of Science (Audiology). Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
2 years of clinical audiology experience is preferred, though not a prerequisite.
Eligible for membership to either the Singapore, British, Australian, or American Audiological Societies. A Certificate of Competence or Clinical Certificate provided by the relevant Society is desirable.
Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships. Proficient in MS Office and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
