ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review land use and development applications for compliance with regulations, policies, and by-laws.

2. Manage projects from initial planning stages to completion, overseeing timelines and budgets.

3. Utilize GIS and other data sources to analyze demographic trends and inform planning decisions.

4. Coordinate public consultation meetings, workshops, and hearings, acting as a liaison between the public and the organization.

5. Prepare technical reports, planning policies, and presentations for stakeholders.

6. Develop long-term community or economic development plans and strategies.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Economics, or Public Administration is usually required; a Master's degree is often preferred.

2. Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., Arcview) and data analysis tools.

3. Strong verbal and written communication skills for creating reports and presenting to groups.

4. Deep understanding of planning legislation, zoning bylaws, and municipal processes.

5. Ability to interpret complex data to identify risks and opportunities.
