Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including welding repairs where necessary.
- Programme and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise equipment performance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used.
- Supervise junior team members or apprentices as required, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing operational issues promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance roles within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of PLC programming (preferably Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar).
- Skilled in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficient in welding techniques and mechanical repairs.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and control systems.
- Leadership or supervising experience is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards maintenance challenges.
