Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems to develop their careers within a dynamic environment.

Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace faulty components, including welding repairs where necessary.
• Programme and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise equipment performance.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used.
• Supervise junior team members or apprentices as required, providing guidance and support.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing operational issues promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance roles within industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Strong electrical experience with knowledge of PLC programming (preferably Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar).
• Skilled in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient in welding techniques and mechanical repairs.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and control systems.
• Leadership or supervising experience is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards maintenance challenges.
