About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer / Technical Lead to take ownership of a mature, business-critical software platform.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring someone who enjoys solving complex problems, writing high-quality software and leading by example. You will be responsible for the ongoing development of the platform, mentoring other developers, maintaining technical standards and ensuring solutions are delivered to a high standard.

You will work closely with the Project Manager and other members of the development team to deliver new functionality, improve existing systems and ensure the long-term stability of the platform.

Minimum Requirements

- Minimum 7 years' commercial software development experience.

- Minimum 3 years' experience leading or mentoring developers.

- Fluent written and spoken English.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions.

Essential Technical Skills

- PHP (Laravel)

- HTML5 / CSS3

- MySQL

- REST API development

- net (legacy and modern frameworks)

Strong knowledge of:

- Software architecture

- API integrations

- Database optimisation

- Performance tuning

- Code reviews

- AI-assisted software development using tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar.

Responsibilities

- Lead the technical development of the platform.

- Design and implement scalable software solutions.

- Review and approve code.

- Mentor and support other developers.

- Maintain coding standards and development best practices.

- Resolve complex technical issues.

- Produce technical documentation.

- Work with the Project Manager to plan and deliver development work.

- Continuously improve platform performance, security and stability.
