Role Description The Research Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Georgetown, supporting research projects under the guidance of academic staff. Daily responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, assisting in the design and execution of experiments or studies, and collecting and organizing data. The role involves performing laboratory or fieldwork tasks as required, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards. The Research Assistant will contribute to data analysis, help prepare reports, manuscripts, and presentations, and coordinate with team members and collaborators to support project milestones. Additional tasks may include administrative support related to research activities and participation in seminars or meetings relevant to the project.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Research skills, including literature review, study design support, and systematic data collection.
  • Candidates should possess Analytical Skills and Data Analysis capabilities, including the ability to interpret results and use relevant analytical tools or software.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear written documentation and professional verbal communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Candidates should possess Laboratory Skills where applicable, including safe handling of equipment, adherence to protocols, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Relevant academic background, preferably a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., science, engineering, social science, or humanities, depending on project needs).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse research environment and manage time and tasks responsibly.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and commitment to research integrity and ethical standards.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical methods and common office or data management software is an advantage.
