Main Purpose of Job
The Head of Group Strategy will be responsible for driving the development and execution of the Group's strategic agenda, identifying growth opportunities, leading strategic transformation initiatives, strengthening ecosystem partnerships, and supporting the Board and Senior Management in achieving sustainable business growth.
The role requires a commercially driven strategist with strong financial services experience, exposure to digital ecosystems, and the ability to translate strategic vision into measurable business outcomes.
Principle Responsibilities & duties
Strategy Development & Execution
- Lead the formulation, review, and execution of the Group's medium and long-term strategic plans.
- Drive annual strategic planning exercises and ensure alignment across business divisions and subsidiaries.
- Conduct market, competitor, regulatory, and industry analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
- Develop strategic roadmaps and monitor execution against agreed KPIs.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, Management Committee, and Board of Directors.
Business Growth & Ecosystem Development
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
- Drive ecosystem strategies involving financial services, digital platforms, merchants, retailers, insurers, fintech, and strategic partners.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to create integrated customer propositions and enhance customer lifetime value.
- Develop strategic partnerships that strengthen the AEON ecosystem and expand revenue streams.
- Evaluate emerging market trends and innovative business models within financial services and digital ecosystems.
Corporate Transformation
- Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and profitability.
- Drive digital transformation and innovation initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Develop business cases for strategic investments and major projects.
- Monitor strategic initiatives and ensure successful implementation across the organization.
Corporate Planning & Performance Management
- Establish strategy governance frameworks and performance tracking mechanisms.
- Monitor strategic KPIs and provide periodic updates to the Board and Management.
- Lead strategic reviews and business performance assessments.
- Facilitate executive decision-making through strategic insights and analysis.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Investments
- Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments.
- Lead commercial due diligence, financial assessments, and strategic evaluations.
- Support negotiation, execution, and post-deal integration activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior management and key business leaders.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, industry players, consultants, and ecosystem partners.
- Represent the organization in strategic discussions, forums, and industry engagements.
