Role Purpose
Serve as the overall Project Manager for the upcoming spin-off. Own the end-to-end plan and delivery across all IT workstreams (applications, integrations, identity, network, EUC, security), ensuring minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage the integrated master plan, milestones, dependencies, and critical path for separation and transition.
Run governance and reporting: steering updates, RAID (Risks/Assumptions/Issues/Dependencies), change control, decision logs; drive timely decisions and approvals.
Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. IT, vendors, Finance/HR/Student services/Facilities).
Define and run cutover strategy, downtime windows, rollback approach, and early life support model.
Track procurement, manage vendor SOWs and SLAs.
Ensure security requirements are embedded in the transition plan; coordinate with Infra/Security and App/Integration leads.
Drive acceptance, decommissioning of shared components, and handover to steady-state operations.
Must-Have Spin-off Experience
Managed at least three complex IT separations/spin-offs or M&A carve-outs end-to-end, covering both application and infrastructure/identity tracks, including cutover.
Deliverables
Integrated master plan, RAID log, change control register, cutover runbook, weekly progress dashboards, go/no-go and sign-off packs.
Resource Requirements & Qualifications
10+ years in IT project/program management with a track record delivering multi-stream transitions.
Strong knowledge of application migrations, data migration, identity/tenant separation (Microsoft 365/Entra ID/AD), and network changes.
Excellent governance and stakeholder management; vendor and budget management experience.
Proficient with planning and collaboration tools (MS Project/Smartsheet/Jira/Confluence); strong presentation and communication skills.
Certifications preferred: PMP or PRINCE2; agile/SAFe exposure beneficial; Prosci/OCM a plus.
Language requirements: English and Cantonese are required .
Location and Availability: Onsite presence in Hong Kong. Available for after-hours/weekend work around migration/cutover windows.
