Leading Multinational Pharmaceutical Company
We are partnering with a leading multinational pharmaceutical company to appoint a dynamic and hands-on HR Manager for its Hong Kong operations.
Reporting to the Regional HR team and partnering closely with local business leaders, this role will be responsible for the full spectrum of Human Resources activities, including talent acquisition, HR operations, payroll, employee relations, and the execution of regional HR initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as the key HR partner for the Hong Kong office, ensuring a positive employee experience and effective people management practices across the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment activities across all functions, partnering with hiring managers to identify and attract top talent.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, interviewing, offer management, onboarding, and employer branding initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders on workforce planning and hiring strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment partners, universities, and talent networks where appropriate.
- Ensure an efficient and positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and serve as the primary HR contact for all employees and managers.
- Oversee employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, probation reviews, performance management, promotion, transfers, and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
- Drive continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experience.
Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee monthly payroll administration in collaboration with external payroll vendors.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including MPF, taxation, and employment-related regulations.
- Administer employee benefits programs and support annual compensation and bonus review processes.
- Partner with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, reporting, and reconciliation.
Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of people-related matters.
- Manage employee relations issues, performance concerns, workplace investigations, and disciplinary processes.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Coach managers on people management, leadership, and HR best practices.
Regional HR Projects & Change Management
- Partner with Regional HR and Centres of Excellence to deliver regional and global HR initiatives.
- Support HR transformation, organizational change, talent management, succession planning, and employee development programs.
- Lead local implementation of regional HR policies, processes, and systems.
- Participate in HR projects focused on process optimization, HR technology, and organizational effectiveness.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and internal company policies.
- Support internal and external audits relating to HR and payroll processes.
- Review and update HR policies and procedures in line with business and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of HR experience with broad exposure across talent acquisition, HR operations, payroll, and employee relations.
- Previous experience in an HR Manager, HRBP, or HR Generalist leadership role within a multinational environment.
- Proven track record of managing end-to-end recruitment and partnering with business leaders on talent strategy.
- Experience supporting a standalone office or small-to-medium-sized business population.
- Exposure to the pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, medical device, or other regulated industries is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin would be an advantage.
