Connexus Global Hiring! Full Time Sales Director (Freight Forwarder) in Selangor - Ricebowl

We are partnering with a growing international freight forwarding business to hire a commercially driven and hands-on Sales Director based in Malaysia.

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving commercial growth, leading the sales function, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting overall business performance across Malaysia to expand the business across key industry verticals including Chemical, Automotive, Industrial, Hi-Tech, and Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage BDMs driving performance, accountability, and commercial growth.
• Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives across Malaysia (owning portfolio of customers)
• Drive revenue growth across freight forwarding and logistics solutions including airfreight, ocean freight, cross border and value-added services.
• Build, maintain, and grow strong customer relationships across key industry verticals.
• Work closely with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure service excellence and operational alignment.
• Drive collaboration and alignment across the commercial and operational teams to improve overall business effectiveness.

Requirements

• Min 10 years of experience in freight forwarding sector (ideally on Ocean Freight activities).
• Strong commercial background with demonstrated success in business development and customer acquisition.
• Min 5 to 8 years of experience managing and leading sales teams, putting in place KPIs for the team.
• Existing customer relationships and the ability to bring along business opportunities will be highly advantageous.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to remain hands-on and operationally involved when required.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
