Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the sourcing process by identifying potential suppliers, obtaining quotations, and evaluating bids based on quality, cost, and delivery terms.
- Prepare, review, and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely issuance.
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and payment status to ensure timely procurement and resolve any supply issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, while identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new vendors to support business needs.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms to achieve cost savings and service improvements.
- Prepare documentation and reports required for internal audits, compliance checks, and management reviews.
- Conduct and verify periodic inventory audits, resolve variances, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure procurement records and databases are accurately maintained and updated in a timely manner.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and provide updates on order progress and supplier performance.
- Participate in team discussions to identify opportunities for procurement process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Mentor and support junior team members to ensure smooth workflow and continuous development.
Job requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and purchasing, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Experience in negotiating pricing, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Able to manage multiple procurement activities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance with procurement policies.
