About Kromax South Asia

Join a forward-thinking leader in providing innovative solutions across the semiconductor, healthcare & medical, and advanced technology sectors. At Kromax South Asia, we empower our clients with cutting-edge technology, industry-leading solutions, and unparalleled support. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and hands-on Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic Malaysia team.

About the Industry & What You'll Be Part Of

Malaysia's northern region is home to some of the most significant industrial, manufacturing, and healthcare players in Southeast Asia, and Kromax South Asia is proud to be the trusted partner supporting them. From semiconductor fabrication facilities and precision manufacturers to hospitals, medical specialists, and wellness organisations, our clients represent the full breadth of industries shaping the region's future.

As part of our Kulim-based team, you'll be joining a close-knit, cross-functional team with the backing of a regional organisation that spans Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and connected to a wider group network in Taiwan. That means real mentorship, shared knowledge across borders, and the kind of international exposure that accelerates your growth in ways that working in just one field simply can't offer.

Here, you'll work alongside colleagues who genuinely invest in each other's success, and clients who span multiple industries, from advanced manufacturing and medical devices to emerging health technology. Every day looks a little different, and that's exactly what makes it exciting.

Your Focus: Semiconductor & Industrial

As a Field Service Engineer in our Semiconductor & Industrial division, you'll do more than turn a wrench. You'll own the full equipment lifecycle on-site, from installation and commissioning through troubleshooting, servicing, and repair. That means understanding a client's operational environment, diagnosing issues accurately, carrying out preventive maintenance, and staying close through training and after-sales support.

Our portfolio spans thermal management and process heating systems, AI-powered energy optimisation for industrial chiller and utility systems, process instrumentation and wet chemical analytics, commercial solar energy, and advanced industrial components for cleanroom and fabrication environments. Your clients will be engineers and facility managers at some of the most recognised names in the global semiconductor industry, including the manufacturers behind today's most advanced AI chips, and they'll come to rely on you as a trusted technical partner on the ground.

Beyond Your Division

We are more than one team. Across our regional offices, dedicated divisions serve the Healthcare & Medical sector, partnering with hospitals, specialists, and medical institutions across the region, and an emerging Personal Health & Wellness Technology division working at the intersection of advanced bio-frequency technology and modern wellbeing. As part of the wider Kromax family, you'll be connected to a diverse, growing organisation with ambitions that extend well beyond any single industry.

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career as a Field Service Engineer, working closely with our Field Service team to keep our clients' equipment running safely and reliably. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in our success — installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment on-site, and supporting customers with clear, professional service from the first call to the final fix. We are looking for someone with a passion for practical, technical problem-solving, a positive mindset, and the drive to make a real impact in a fast-moving environment.

(Key Responsibilities) What You Will Achieve

  • Perform on-site equipment installation, measurement, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair for clients across the semiconductor and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement programmes, preventive maintenance schedules, modifications, and rectification works for client equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records, job reports, and equipment documentation to support efficient operations and reporting.
  • Liaise directly with customers on assigned jobs, keeping them informed and ensuring work is executed professionally and on schedule.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of our equipment portfolio to troubleshoot faults accurately and recommend the right fix.
  • Provide end-user training on equipment operation and maintenance to ensure clients get the most from their systems.
  • Follow instructions from your superiors, applying correct working methods, appropriate tools, and safety regulations at all times, including in cleanroom environments.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients by delivering reliable, professional on-site service.
  • Share client feedback and on-the-ground observations with your team to flag recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers to resolve complex technical issues and support solution delivery across the full project lifecycle.
  • Participate in structured and on-the-job training to continuously build your technical skills and product knowledge.

(Qualifications) What You Bring to the Table

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related field).
  • Basic electrical knowledge and a good grasp of engineering fundamentals.
  • Good planning and time management skills, with the ability to work well under minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work in a cleanroom environment and to travel to client sites as required.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do work attitude.
  • Experience with engineering drawing software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is an advantage.
  • At least 1 year of related working experience is an advantage — candidates with no prior experience are also welcome, as training will be provided.
  • Malaysian Citizens are preferred for this role.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia are an advantage (useful for customer and principal-facing communication).

(Benefits) What We Offer in Return

  • Earn a competitive salary, with allowances and opportunities for skills-based progression.
  • Receive hands-on training and mentorship from senior engineers to accelerate your technical career.
  • Make a tangible impact by keeping some of the region's most advanced manufacturing facilities running smoothly.
  • Thrive in a supportive, collaborative team culture where your growth and safety are valued.
