Job Description


Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Adhere to BIM execution plans for projects, outlining BIM goals, standards, and processes.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand and align BIM requirements with project objectives.
  • Implement BIM methodologies and ensure adherence to BIM standards throughout the project lifecycle.


Team Leadership and Training:

  • Report regularly to the Project Managers, BIM Managers, Senior Modellers and Engineers on the progress of assigned project works.
  • Keep up to date with the latest BIM technologies and industry trends.


BIM Standards and Compliance:

  • Understand and comply with SMEC BIM standards, ensuring consistency and compliance across projects.
  • Stay informed about local and international BIM standards and implement them as appropriate.


Model Development and Management:

  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, and quality control of BIM models and drawings for Dams and Hydropower projects.
  • Work towards deadlines set by Project Managers. Ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and integrate various discipline models into a federated BIM model.
  • Implement clash detection and resolution processes to identify and resolve conflicts.


Interdisciplinary Coordination:

  • Participate in coordination meetings between different project disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure collaboration.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate BIM across all project phases.


Technology Implementation:


  • Work with BIM Managers and Senior Modellers to evaluate and implement new BIM software and technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the proper integration of BIM tools with other project management systems.


Data Management:

  • Manage and organize BIM data, ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
  • Manage deliverable submissions, including transmittals and registers.
  • Implement data exchange standards and protocols to facilitate seamless information sharing.


Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Coordinate regular audits of BIM models with BIM Managers to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Implement quality control processes to identify and rectify errors in BIM models.


Job Specification

  • Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering or other relevant disciplines. Revit and or Civil 3D training certificates from accredited providers will be beneficial.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years in modelling or civil design. Experience in dams and hydropower projects, multidisciplinary design coordination and on different scales of infrastructure projects within engineering design consulting business is beneficial.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Navisworks is required. Knowledge of other drafting software and certification in ISO 19650 is a plus.
  • Organisation: Good planning skills in managing tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving: Possess strong initiative, and ability to work independently and within team environment when required. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Location: Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur
