The Role:

As a Senior SAS IT Developer on a 12-month contract based at our Kuala Lumpur office, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of a SAS IFRS 17 Solution System. You will work alongside actuarial, finance, and data management teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant regulatory reporting solutions while also mentoring junior developers and driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain SAS programs for IFRS 17 reporting and financial analysis

• Develop and optimize ETL processes for SAS IFRS 17 data extraction, transformation, and loading

• Perform data validation and testing to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity

• Provide technical support and troubleshoot SAS-related applications and workflows

• Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and SAS IT teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Support month-end closing, change requests, enhancements, and post-production defect resolution

• Document processes, technical specifications, and procedures; mentor junior developers in SAS best practices

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, or a related field

• Minimum 6 years of extensive experience in SAS Base & Macros and SAS Data Integration (SAS DI), focused on financial reporting, risks, or actuarial solutions

• Experience with IFRS 17 requirements or regulatory compliance within the insurance or finance industry

• Proficiency across SAS Base, SAS Macro, SAS DI, SAS Management Console (SMC), SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG), SAS Visual Analytics (SAS VA), and LSF scheduling

• Solid experience in data modelling, ETL processes, and data validation techniques

• Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work effectively across functional teams
