To lead and manage end-to-end construction projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and cost efficiency while adhering to industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities1. Pre-Construction Planning
- Take full ownership of the pre-construction planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Work closely with the client, consultants, and internal design/procurement teams to develop clear and executable construction strategies.
- Anticipate local site conditions, logistics, labor availability, and regulatory requirements in Penang/Malaysia to ensure smooth project mobilization.
2. Timely & Qualified Project Delivery
- Develop and implement effective project execution plans that ensure on-time, high-quality delivery according to client requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor construction progress closely, proactively resolve delays, and maintain strict control over timeline, cost, safety, and quality.
- Apply deep understanding of local construction processes, statutory approvals, labor management, and coordination with local authorities to manage execution risks.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Public Relations
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities, utility providers, and surrounding communities.
- Lead efforts in securing necessary permits, approvals, and public support, ensuring smooth cooperation and minimizing local resistance or delays.
- Represent the company professionally in external meetings and public communication, contributing to a positive corporate image.
4. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, architects, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between all parties to maintain project efficiency and quality.
5. Technical Problem-Solving & Site Management
- Provide guidance and technical support to resolve construction challenges across civil, structural, and M&E disciplines.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, ensure compliance with specifications, and address issues proactively.
6. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Oversee the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely availability and quality compliance.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and resolving any disputes effectively.
7. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in workmanship, materials, and safety protocols.
Qualifications1. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in civil Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Project management, Construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale industrial construction projects (semiconductor, electronics, data center preferred).
- Strong knowledge of civil, structural, and M&E works, as well as In-depth understanding of Malaysian regulations, approval procedures, labor practices, and local supply chain dynamics, especially in Penang.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to project challenges.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Pay: From RM6,500.00 per month
