Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing & Production

  • Assist in editing short-form videos for WeTV’s social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
  • Cut, trim, and assemble raw footage into engaging videos with smooth pacing and clean transitions.
  • Add basic elements such as subtitles, music, sound effects, and simple motion graphics to enhance content quality.
  • Ensure videos follow platform-specific formats (vertical video, hook in first few seconds, optimized duration).

Content Support (C-Drama Focus)

  • Support the team in selecting engaging clips from C-Drama content, including emotional, dramatic, or visually appealing scenes.
  • Assist in identifying moments that could perform well on social media (romance highlights, plot twists, viral reactions).
  • Stay updated on trending C-Dramas and social media trends to support content ideation.

Creative Collaboration

  • Work closely with the content and marketing team to execute video ideas aligned with campaigns and releases.
  • Contribute ideas for edits, formats, and storytelling approaches.
  • Revise edits based on feedback and continuously improve output quality.

Learning & Performance Awareness

  • Support in reviewing content performance (views, engagement, retention).
  • Learn how editing style, pacing, and hooks impact video performance.
  • Continuously explore new editing techniques and social media trends.

Requirements

  1. Basic Video Editing Skills: Familiar with tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar (academic or personal projects are acceptable).
  2. Interest in Content Creation: Passionate about short-form video and social media content.
  3. C-Drama Content Sense (Critical): You must be a passionate consumer of C-Dramas with an intuitive sense for what makes content engaging — whether it's selecting the right clip, timing a cut to music, or understanding fan sensibilities. If you don't actively watch and love C-Dramas, this role is not a fit.
  4. Platform Familiarity: Active user of TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts with a general understanding of what makes content engaging.
  5. Creativity & Attention to Detail: Good sense of timing, pacing, and visual flow.
  6. Willingness to Learn: Open to feedback and eager to improve editing and storytelling skills.
  7. Time Management: Able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken). Able to understand Mandarin dialogue nuances and adapt content for multilingual audiences.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience working with C-Drama content, Asian entertainment, or OTT/streaming platforms.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or subtitle styling to elevate content quality.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., TikTok Analytics, YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite) and data-driven content optimization.
  • Experience managing or collaborating with influencers, fan communities, or UGC creators.
  • Understanding of SEO, hashtag strategy, and social media growth tactics.
