Job Title: Software Test Engineer (Cypress)
I am seeking a Software Test Engineer to support software quality assurance activities across the full testing lifecycle. In this role, you will be involved in test planning, test design, automation, execution, and reporting to ensure software reliability, functionality, and performance
Key Responsibilities
- Involve in full software testing lifecycle activities including requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and test reporting.
- Design, develop, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and comprehensive test suites aligned with functional and technical specifications.
- Take ownership of test execution activities, coordinating testing efforts from planning stage through to production release.
- Define and implement effective test strategies to enhance software quality and reliability.
- Perform automated testing for web-based applications using modern automation frameworks.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts for functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Work closely with developers and product teams to ensure a strong quality-driven development process.
- Advocate quality engineering practices such as unit testing, test coverage analysis, defect prevention, and continuous improvement.
- Identify, log, track, and manage software defects, and verify fixes thoroughly before closure.
- Manage and support test environments including configuration of test servers and related infrastructure.
- Perform data validation and testing across large-scale datasets and database systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent field.
- 3–8 years of professional experience in software testing / QA within IT or software development environments.
- Strong hands-on experience in web application test automation.
- Solid expertise in Cypress and Playwright using JavaScript (mandatory requirement).
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
- Exposure to Big Data ecosystems and data validation techniques, including Hadoop, Hive, or Spark, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Linux environments, shell scripting, and command-line tools is beneficial.
- Prior experience in telecommunications, analytics, or large-scale enterprise systems will be an added advantage.
