Finance Assistant Manager – General Ledger (GL)

Location: Malaysia

Department: Finance

Salary: RM 7,000 – RM 9,000 (Depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Manage General Ledger (GL) activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Handle month-end and year-end closing activities.

Prepare financial statements and management reports.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit processes.

Support internal and external audits.

Drive finance process improvements and automation initiatives.

Maintain strong internal controls and accounting accuracy.

Inventory Accounting Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end inventory accounting processes.

Perform inventory valuation, costing, and reconciliation.

Monitor inventory controls and support stock count activities.

Conduct inventory variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Handle inventory provisions, obsolescence, and Cost of Sales (COGS) accounting.

Utilize ERP systems with inventory modules to improve accounting efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

Proven experience in General Ledger accounting and financial reporting.

Strong hands-on experience in inventory accounting, including:

Stock valuation

Costing methodologies

Inventory reconciliation

Inventory controls

Stock count processes

Variance analysis

Experience with ERP systems, preferably with inventory management modules.

Good understanding of financial reporting impacts related to inventory movements.

Knowledge of tax compliance and audit requirements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail with the ability to work independently.

Excellent accountability and ownership of deliverables.
