Your Role
As a Backend Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of our Smart Workplace platform. You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and system architects to build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that support AIoT solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and system components to support web, mobile, and IoT applications.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to define and implement RESTful or event-driven APIs that ensure seamless system integration.
• Design and manage databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including schema design, performance optimization, and data integrity.
• Implement business logic, authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms.
• Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance through proper architecture, caching strategies, and monitoring.
• Integrate backend services with third-party systems, IoT devices, messaging queues, and cloud services where applicable.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of production issues. • Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring.
• Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and security best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL), with a solid understanding of HTTP, JSON, and API security.
• Strong experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Familiarity with system architecture concepts including microservices, message queues, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Linux-based environments and basic server administration concepts.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure data handling.
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Exposure to front-end technologies and experience leading or mentoring an R&D or technical team will be considered an added advantage
