We are a well-established automotive manufacturing company based in Bukit Minyak, Penang, and we are looking for a dynamic and committed Supply Chain (Purchasing) to join our team.

This role focuses primarily on procurement and material planning to ensure smooth production operations, cost efficiency, and effective inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components and indirect materials
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and supplier performance improvement
• Evaluate, negotiate and manage supplier contracts, pricing, and terms
• Monitor material planning and coordinate with Production to ensure sufficient stock availability without overstocking
• Track supplier delivery performance and resolve supply-related issues promptly
• Issue Purchase Orders (PO) and monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery
• Review and verify BOM to ensure purchasing accuracy
• Conduct supplier evaluation and performance monitoring (cost, quality, delivery)
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure proper documentation
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse team for stock control
• Support inventory audits and reconciliation activities
• Prepare purchasing reports and analyze KPIs such as cost reduction, supplier performance and material availability
• Work closely with internal departments (Production, Quality, Warehouse, Finance) to ensure smooth operations
• Support audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirement Education:

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or material planning
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Good analytical and cost control abilities
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
• SAP knowledge is an added advantage

Language:

• Able to communicate in English and Mandarin (preferred)

• Willing to work in Bukit Minyak / Simpang Ampat, Penang

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,800.00 per month
