Role Description The Host/Hostess Server is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur City at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating arrangements, and ensuring smooth guest flow in the restaurant and bar areas. Day-to-day tasks include presenting menus, taking and serving food and beverage orders, responding to guest inquiries, and coordinating with kitchen and bar teams to deliver timely service. The Host/Hostess Server also handles table setup and clearing, supports billing and payment processes, and maintains cleanliness and organization in the dining area. A key focus of the role is creating a friendly, professional atmosphere that reflects Banyan Tree’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills to interact clearly and courteously with guests and colleagues.
• Excellent Customer Service skills to provide attentive, personalized, and solution-focused guest support.
• Ability to work effectively in Teamwork-oriented environments and collaborate with restaurant, bar, and kitchen staff.
• Basic technical aptitude; familiarity with C++ is an advantage but not required for the role.
• Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or front-of-house restaurant operations preferred.
• Proficient in English; additional languages commonly spoken in Kuala Lumpur are an asset.
• Professional appearance, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related training or certifications are beneficial.
