Strategy & Transformation Lead (Technology)


The Technology Unit at SGX is responsible for delivering and operating mission-critical trading, clearing, settlement, and market infrastructure systems, ensuring high levels of resilience, performance, security, and regulatory compliance. The unit drives technological innovation, operational excellence, and strategic transformation initiatives that enhance our market infrastructure capabilities and maintain our competitive edge in the global financial markets.


Position Overview


We are seeking a strategic and analytical Strategy & Transformation professional to join our Technology Unit. This role will drive the shift from traditional project-based delivery to product-centric, outcome-driven ways of working, aligning business priorities, technology capabilities, and delivery execution to achieve faster time-to-market, improved customer outcomes, and sustained operational excellence. Acting as a key partner to senior leadership, the incumbent will lead strategic initiatives, operating model redesign, and organizational change to strengthen SGX’s competitive position and long-term resilience.


Key Responsibilities


Strategy & Roadmap Planning


  • Support the development and execution of technology strategy and multi-year roadmaps for trading, clearing, settlement, and data systems
  • Conduct technology landscape analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify strategic opportunities for infrastructure enhancement
  • Collaborate with technology architecture teams to evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for core market infrastructure
  • Analyze technology investment priorities and business cases for major system upgrades and transformations


Operating Model Transformation


  • Lead the transition from project-based delivery to a product-led operating model, aligning technology delivery to business outcomes
  • Design and implement product-centric structures that enable end-to-end ownership
  • Establish product lifecycle management and outcome-based prioritization frameworks
  • Ensure strong alignment between strategy, prioritization, and execution across Technology and business stakeholders


AI, Automation, Digital Transformation


  • Spearhead digital transformation projects including cloud migration, API modernization, and microservices architecture adoption
  • Support implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for operations monitoring, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance


Performance Analytics & Optimization


  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for technology systems and operational processes
  • Embed data-driven decision-making, OKRs, and performance tracking mechanisms
  • Conduct data analysis to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for system optimization
  • Prepare regular performance reports and dashboards for senior management and technology leadership
  • Support capacity planning and system scaling initiatives based on market growth projections



Required Qualifications


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business management, or related technical field
  • 5-8 years of experience in technology strategy, operations transformation, or systems implementation roles
  • Background in financial services technology, trading systems, or market infrastructure operations
  • Experience with large-scale technology transformation projects and system implementations


Skills & Competencies


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interface between technical, operational and business stakeholders
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional transformation projects
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of financial markets operations, trading workflows, and regulatory environments
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, DevOps) and enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Bonus: Experience with data analytics tools and programming languages (SQL, Python, R) for performance analysis
  • Bonus: Experience with real-time trading systems, market data feeds, and market infrastructure
  • Bonus: Previous experience in exchange operations, clearing organizations, or financial market infrastructure providers
  • Bonus: Experience with vendor management and technology procurement processes
