Job Description

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

Responsible for driving the main functions of the department as the second-in-command to ensure accurate, effective, and efficient departmental operations.


Tasks:

1. Lead formal and informal discussions with the leadership team in preparation for the organization-wide business plan.

2. Ensure alignment between corporate objectives and the objectives of all sub-units within the organization by facilitating the structured cascading and alignment of objectives, targets, initiatives, manpower planning and budgeting.

3. Track the organization’s progress against its long-term objectives and make relevant recommendations.

4. Prepare proposals for organizational improvement initiatives and monitor their implementation progress.

5. Ensure that organizational performance tracking at the Corporate, Division and Department levels is carried out effectively to support organizational mandates and objectives.

6. Coordinate the formulation, finalization, review and reporting of SPAN KPIs.

7. Prepare and monitor the department's annual budget.

8. Conduct studies, research, and analyses on topics or subjects as directed by the CEO and assist in preparing relevant communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.

9. Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Management and/or the immediate Superior.


Requirements:

  • Possesses a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in strategic planning, with exposure to strategic advisory, corporate governance, business development and policy formulation within the industry.
  • Possesses a Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Politics, Philosophy, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Demonstrates expertise in strategy formulation and corporate planning, with proven experience in leading corporate planning improvement initiatives across longterm, medium-term and short-term timeframes. Able to demonstrate the impact and outcomes of such initiatives.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in performance forecasting, achievement analysis and performance reporting by conducting in-depth analyses of performance drivers and developing performance narratives that align with organizational mandates and strategic priorities.
  • Possesses experience in dealing with at least one (1) of the following regulators for regulatory and/or licensing purposes: Bank Negara Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), National Water Services Commission (SPAN), Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), or other commissions of the Federal Government of Malaysia.
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in management-related topics, including but not limited to national policies and regulations, sustainable development, leadership and talent management, strategy and decision-making, stakeholder management, change management, ethics and governance, and digital transformation and the modern workplace.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, including the C-suite, senior management, middle management, and operational teams, as well as external stakeholders such as ministries and government agencies, regulators, business partners and the Board of Directors.
