About the role

We are seeking an experienced Account cum Admin professional to join our team in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position that combines accounting and administrative responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient operations of a growing organisation. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records whilst simultaneously supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the business. You will report directly to management and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organisational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals and supporting documentation

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision and timeliness

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and identify any discrepancies for resolution

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and reports

  • Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions

  • Handle invoice processing, expense claims and reimbursement procedures

  • Perform data entry and maintain organised filing systems for financial and administrative documents

  • Coordinate with vendors, clients and internal departments to resolve accounting and administrative queries

  • Support payroll processing and ensure accurate employee records

  • Assist with audit preparations and provide supporting documentation as required

  • Perform general administrative duties including scheduling, correspondence and document management

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and organisational policies

  • Foreigner Work Permit Pre application documents preparations

What we're looking for

  • Qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in accounting and administrative roles

  • Proficiency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

  • Strong numeracy skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping

  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, bookkeeping practices and general ledger management

  • Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Professional demeanour with strong ethical standards and integrity

  • Prior experience in a small practice accounting environment or similar role is highly desirable

  • Knowledge of Malaysian tax and employment regulations is preferred
