About the role
We are seeking an experienced Account cum Admin professional to join our team in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position that combines accounting and administrative responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient operations of a growing organisation. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records whilst simultaneously supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the business. You will report directly to management and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organisational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals and supporting documentation
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision and timeliness
Prepare bank reconciliations and identify any discrepancies for resolution
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and reports
Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions
Handle invoice processing, expense claims and reimbursement procedures
Perform data entry and maintain organised filing systems for financial and administrative documents
Coordinate with vendors, clients and internal departments to resolve accounting and administrative queries
Support payroll processing and ensure accurate employee records
Assist with audit preparations and provide supporting documentation as required
Perform general administrative duties including scheduling, correspondence and document management
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and organisational policies
Foreigner Work Permit Pre application documents preparations
What we're looking for
Qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in accounting and administrative roles
Proficiency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Strong numeracy skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, bookkeeping practices and general ledger management
Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Excellent organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Professional demeanour with strong ethical standards and integrity
Prior experience in a small practice accounting environment or similar role is highly desirable
Knowledge of Malaysian tax and employment regulations is preferred
