Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef and be responsible for preparing quality dishes while maintaining consistency, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in cooking food according to standardized recipes, portion guidelines, quality standards, and presentation requirements to ensure consistency.

  • Conduct daily mise en place to ensure the kitchen is prepared before service.

  • Ensure food is cooked at the right temperature and presented attractively.

  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, and ovens.

  • Assist in developing new menu items or improving existing recipes, when required.

  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

  • Conduct routine checks on food quality, taste, freshness, and storage conditions.

  • Assist in kitchen audits and inspections, when required.

  • Support inventory management, including receiving, storage, stock rotation, and wastage control.

  • Coordinate with procurement on raw material quality, quantity, and delivery schedules.

  • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in restaurant or hospitality operations as a Chef or Cook.

  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.

  • Good teamwork and ability to follow instructions.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Well-groomed, professional, and service-oriented attitude.

  • Able to communicate in English and/or Bahasa Malaysia.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency.
