Purnama Solution (M) Sdn Bhd is an engineering and infrastructure company involved in telecom, electrical and construction-related project works.
We are looking for a hands-on Manager – HR, Workforce & Construction Operations to manage HR operations, worker matters, foreign worker welfare, manpower coordination, site workforce issues, safety-related documentation, onboarding, attendance and field reporting.
This is not a purely office-based HR role. The selected candidate must be familiar with construction/project site operations and must be willing to travel to project sites when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, manpower coordination and workforce administration.
- Handle all worker-related issues under the HR Department, including local workers, foreign workers, site staff, drivers, technicians and project support teams.
- Manage onboarding of new employees, site staff, supervisors, technicians, drivers and foreign workers.
- Ensure employee records, documents, attendance, leave, permits, passports, contracts and HR files are properly maintained.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining HR records in Zoho People or the company HR system.
- Monitor attendance, absenteeism, lateness, shift manpower and replacement requirements.
- Visit project sites nationwide when required to check manpower status, site discipline, worker issues and reporting compliance.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors and safety personnel on manpower shortage, worker performance, site issues and replacement needs.
- Handle foreign worker matters including allowance issues, accommodation concerns, salary-related complaints, attendance, welfare and documentation.
- Support safety-related HR documentation such as site induction records, PPE records, training records, safety briefings and worker compliance documents.
- Track company vehicle and driver matters including vehicle assignment, driver responsibility, location, mileage, condition and maintenance status.
- Assist in disciplinary matters, warning letters, performance improvement plans and staff issue documentation.
- Prepare weekly HR, manpower, worker welfare and construction workforce reports for management.
- Ensure daily HR and worker issues are properly recorded, followed up and closed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in HR operations, manpower coordination, workforce management, site administration or construction-related operations.
- Experience in construction, engineering, telecom, utility, M&E, data centre, infrastructure, EPC or project-based industries is preferred.
- Must be familiar with construction site environments, worker discipline, foreign worker handling and basic safety documentation.
- Must be willing to travel to project sites within Malaysia when required.
- Must be firm, practical and able to deal with project managers, site supervisors, foreign workers, drivers and field teams.
- Able to prepare clear reports using Excel, Google Sheets or HR systems.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Able to work in a fast-paced project environment.
- Must be proactive, independent and able to follow up without constant supervision.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
We prefer candidates who have worked in construction, engineering, M&E, telecom, utility, data centre, infrastructure, manpower supply, facilities management or site operations companies.
The candidate must understand that construction-related HR requires site visits, manpower checking, worker handling, foreign worker welfare, document control, safety awareness, vehicle/driver tracking and daily follow-up.
