Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Project Director, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and delivery of multiple construction and interior fit-out projects concurrently. You will set the strategic direction for your project teams, manage contractual and construction matters, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to PLM’s quality standards.

This role also encompasses active involvement in pre-construction activities including the preparation of technical proposals, project schedules, and participation in tender exercises. The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with strong leadership credentials and deep commercial acumen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee all aspects of project delivery including contract management, design coordination, and site construction

• Develop and drive project execution plans and work programmes to meet contractual completion dates

• Prepare technical proposals and project schedules, and participate actively in tender exercises

• Ensure full compliance with PLM’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across all project sites

• Manage and resolve contractual and construction issues independently and decisively

• Administer construction contracts including management of variation orders, claims, extensions of time, and final accounts

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners

• Ensure accurate and thorough project documentation in accordance with PLM’s Quality Management System (QMS)

• Provide regular, accurate project reports to the Construction Director

• Train, mentor, and guide project teams to perform at their best

• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Construction Department’s operational efficiency

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant construction discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent)

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role

• Proven track record in successfully delivering interior fit-out, architectural, or general construction projects as a senior project or construction manager

• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects

• Strong knowledge of pre- and post-construction processes

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts including administration of contractual claims, variation orders, extensions of time, and dispute resolution

• Demonstrated experience in preparation of technical proposals, project schedules, and participation in tender exercises

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

• Proficient in MS Office and MS Project
